Nestled amongst the Sussex Downs countryside of West Sussex I introduce you to our Windlesham centre. A spacious location with plenty of freedom which is ideal for young teenagers. Windlesham has the capacity for 150 students per week and a staff ratio of 1:4 students. If you are aged between 11-15 then we welcome you here on our Adventures in English programme.

At Windlesham we provide students with 20 hours of English tuition per week, which is made up of:

English Skills (10 hrs per week)

These lessons are based on Bede’s syllabus and are designed to improve students’ general language abilities, extend their vocabulary and pronunciation and enhance their understanding of grammar to improve their accuracy when producing spoken and written language.

Explorations (5 hrs per week)

These lessons, based on stimulating subjects such as science, environment, ecology, space, energy, geography, and technology use CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), methodology to enhance students’ general knowledge as well as their communication and language abilities, promoting their cultural sensitivity.

Adventure Activities (5 hrs per week)

Using the open grounds to our teaching advantage we take this lesson outside and provide students with a practical and engaging activity. Problem-solving, teamwork and instinct are some of the skills we will be working on during these lessons. The activities we will be including are things like orienteering, bushcraft activities and treasure hunts.

A placement test on arrival will place students into their English class. Each class will consist of students of similar age and English ability.

What is new for 2017 at Windlesham?

  • KET Cambridge exam will be available for students at Windlesham. Internationally recognised certification and perfect for those who are looking to advance onto the PET, FCE and CAE exams.
  • Trinity College - Stage & Screen and Scuba Diving Academies available at an additional cost.

What extra does Windlesham offer?

  • Windlesham welcomes carefully selected native English students who will be of a similar age. The benefit of having our champions with us, is they help our staff create such an experience for our international students and also interact and communicate with them also.
  • Two exam opportunities, Cambridge KET and Trinity GESE. Preparation time and exam included provides the opportunity for students to return home with a qualification recognising their English language level.

Our programme, activities and excursions are all designed for the given age range, including time every day for students to use the Wi-Fi and contact home. A great centre for those who are looking for lots of space and countryside. Ideal for younger teenagers who are not quite ready to mix with an elder age group.
