University of Sussex is nestled on the edge of the South Downs and is minutes from the cosmopolitan city of Brighton & Hove. It can be easily reached via road and rail.
By train - If you are coming by train from London, there are trains frequently going to Lewes, where you can change for Falmer. The journey will take 1 hour 10 minutes. Falmer train station is directly opposite the University and pedestrian access is through a subway under the A27.
By car - If you are coming by car, your route will depend on where you are coming from, but the University is on the A27 between Brighton and Lewes and about four miles (six kilometres) from the centre of Brighton. The postcode is BN1 9RH.
By air - The nearest airport is Gatwick and there are direct trains from the airport to Brighton station. The train from Brighton to Falmer only takes 9 minutes, alternatively the centre is a short taxi ride away.
