Lancing College, founded in 1848, proudly stands high on a hill with stunning views overlooking the coastal resort of Brighton. The famous gothic chapel, with its air of magic and mystery, is of national importance, and dominates a campus extending across some 550 acres / 220 hectares of beautiful Sussex countryside. The College is built around two quadrangles in a similar style to the Oxford and Cambridge university colleges, and boasts some excellent facilities.
Dates & Fees
The centre is open for 7 weeks in total, from 2 July to 19 August 2017. Students can arrive on any Sunday and depart on any Saturday.
The recommended minimum stay is two weeks. To maximize the benefit of your experience, you should consider a 3 or 4 week course.
A 10% discount is available on the weekly package price on stays of 5 weeks or longer.
The fully-inclusive course fee is £1,075 per week.
Age range 13 to 18 yrs. Maximum 230 students per week from different countries. Limits for each nationality to ensure a good mix.

There are 22½ hours of lessons per week (4½ hours per day) including English Skills, Enrichment and Research Project. Maximum 14 students per class. Weekly progress checks to monitor students' performance.
6 levels are available from Elementary (A1-2) to Proficiency (C2). Entry test on Monday with a speaking, grammar and writing component. Complete Beginners are not accepted.
The Cambridge FCE & Cambridge CAE exams are available. Dedicated exam preparation in place of English Skills and Enrichment. Cambridge FCE: 2 or 3 week programme available (exam on Thurs 27 July 2017). Cambridge CAE: 3 week programme available (exam on Thurs 20 July 2017). Exams takes place at Dicker centre.
Tennis courts, sports hall, squash courts, playing fields, astro-turf pitch, drama theatre, dance studio, art studio and café. The swimming pool will be closed in 2017 for refurbishment but swimming will be offered at an external swimming pool.
Separate accommodation on campus for boys and girls. Most bedrooms have 1 or 2 beds. Some larger bedrooms with 3-5 beds are available. Storage space is available. Bathrooms are shared. Where students share their bedroom, it will be with children of a similar age and from a different country. Most boarding houses have their own communal space for students to relax. Bede’s staff provide excellent care for students 24 hours a day and live in the same sleeping areas as the students. Dedicated House Parents look after the students in each boarding house. Excellent staff:student ratios (typically 1:5). Individual attention provided. There is a surgery led by a qualified nurse several times a week and access to a doctor if required. Internet is available and limited a Wi-Fi network covering some boarding houses. Skype is available. Students can make and receive telephone calls. Lancing Cafe for refreshments and snacks. Laundry is done for students at least twice a week. 24 hour emergency contact service for Parents.
Transfers from/to Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports and Ashford Train Station are included in the fees at any time of the day. Students are met by Bede's Staff and Bede's Airport Coordinators provide extra care.
