Located on the South East Coast of England and known as ‘The Sunshine Coast’, welcomes students from 6 – 11 years of age. We accept complete beginners and with a staff ratio of 1:3 students, it really is a centre you can send your children in confidence.

At Eastbourne, we offer a Day Course for students and a choice of Parent Courses also. Day Students will join the Little Explorers programme, Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri (08:30 - 17:00) and Weds (08:30 - 18:00). Evening option and Saturday Excursion are available at an additional cost. English lessons are available for the parents of Day Students (group classes or one-to-one), as well as a Leisure Programme three days per week.

At Eastbourne we provide students with 17.5 hours of English tuition per week, which is made up of;

English Skills (7.5 hrs per week)

These lessons are based on Bede’s syllabus and are designed to improve students’ general language abilities, extend their vocabulary and pronunciation and enhance their understanding of grammar to improve their accuracy when producing spoken and written language.

StoryTime (5 hrs per week)

Working on 1 or 2 childrens stories per week, StoryTime develops students’ listening skills, extends their everyday vocabulary and stimulates their creativity and natural curiosity.

Explorations (5 hrs per week)

These lessons, based on stimulating subjects such as science, environment, ecology, space, energy, geography, and technology use CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), methodology to enhance students’ general knowledge as well as their communication and language abilities, promoting their cultural sensitivity.

A placement test on arrival will place students into their English class. Each class will consist of students of similar age and English ability.

What is new for 2017 at Eastbourne?

  • We have increased the capacity to 70 residential students per week, due to high demand
  • Cambridge Young Learners exam available (Perfect for beginners – pre-intermediate levels of English)
  • Alternate structure to our Parent Course

Our programme, activities and excursions are all designed for the given age range, including time for a siesta for our younger students. A fun environment with a Harry Potter style housing system engages students to do well and reap the benefits. This is the Ideal home for those who have not been abroad before, feel a little shy or a complete beginner speaking English.
