We are looking for Administrators who are highly organised, efficient and flexible and able to work in a busy, fast paced and often challenging Summer School office. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work calmly and effectively even whilst under pressure and when working to tight deadlines. Good computer skills and the ability to work with high levels of accuracy at all times is a basic requirement of the post.

We are looking for Administrators who are hard-working, reliable and professional and for those who are willing to go the extra mile to help their colleagues and ensure the smooth running of the office at all times.

We aim to give students an educational, culturally-enriching and memorable summer experience in a safe and supervised setting and we are looking to employ professional staff who will accept this responsibility, and have the necessary wide-ranging skills, experience and commitment to help us achieve this goal.

  • Proficient user of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Compensation

£725 per week.

Statutory holiday pay (currently 5.6 weeks per year) is paid pro-rata with each salary payment on top of the stated weekly salary.

Accommodation and meal are provided free of charge.

Working Hours

Working hours will be variable and shifts will often be long (typically 10 hours).

Shifts will include early mornings, late nights and weekends.

Administrators are entitled to 1 full day off per week.

Working Day

The Administrator works closely with the Centre Director and carries out administrative duties relating to the students and staff on the course and helps to ensure the smooth running of the office.

Much of the day is spent in the office dealing with phone calls and requests from staff, students and visitors. As such, the Administrator must be approachable, welcoming and professional at all times. Specific duties include supporting the managers with admin-related tasks, such as data entry, preparing lists, logging information and taking minutes in meetings.

The Managers’ office is the nerve centre of the Summer School and it can get busy and intense, especially during student free time and on arrival and departure days, when many things can be happening at the same time. It is essential that administrative systems, procedures and protocols are followed to maintain cross-centre consistency, ensure accuracy and to help ease the pressure during busy times.

The day will be long and may often be tiring due to physical and mental demands of the job, but it will also be very varied, spontaneous and fast-moving affording a great sense of achievement, camaraderie and teamwork.
