Handcross Park School, which is just 12 miles / 19 kilometres from Gatwick Airport, is set in 50 acres / 20 hectares of beautiful parkland, gardens and playing fields. The outdoor facilities make Handcross the ideal place for a programme that uses the natural environment to stimulate learning.
Dates & Fees
The centre is open for 6 weeks in total, from 9 July to 19 August 2017. Students can arrive on any Sunday and depart on any Saturday.
The recommended minimum stay is two weeks. To maximize the benefit of your experience, you should consider a 3 or 4 week course.
A 10% discount is available on the weekly package price on stays of 5 weeks or longer.
The fully-inclusive course fee is £1,025 per week.
Age range 10 to 14 yrs. Where students turn the minimum age during the course, consideration will be given on a case by case basis. Maximum 50 students per week from different countries. Limits for each nationality to ensure a good mix.
There are 20 hours of lessons per week (see Timetable) including English Skills, Enrichment and Explorations. Maximum 10 students per class. Weekly progress checks to monitor students' performance.
The Outdoor Classroom will be used for some lessons and activities in the Forest School which will stimulate students' curiosity for the natural environment.
7 levels are available, from Beginners (A1) to Proficiency (C2). Entry test on Monday with a speaking, grammar and writing component.
Available in Commercial Pop Dance, Horse Riding, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Scuba Diving & Open Water, Stage & Screen and Tennis. Supplements are payable. Academies are subject to availability and a minimum number of enrolments; if an Academy is cancelled, the Parent will be offered a full refund of the Academy only. See our Academy Prospectus.
The Cambridge YLE and Trinity GESE exams are available. 5 hours of dedicated exam preparation in place of Enrichment. Minimum 2 week course. Cambridge YLE exam on Weds 19 July, Thurs 3 August or Thurs 17 August 2017. Trinity GESE exam on Fri 21 July or Fri 4 August 2017. Exam takes place at Handcross or Dicker centre. Confirmation of a place on an Exam Course is subject to availability.

Tennis courts, sports hall, swimming pool, 6-hole golf course, playing fields, drama theatre, common room, IT Suite.
Bede's staff provide excellent care for students 24 hours a day and live in the same sleeping areas as the students. Dedicated House Parents look after the students in each boarding house. Excellent staff:student ratios (typically 1:4). Individual attention provided. There is a surgery led by a qualified nurse several times a week and access to a doctor if required. Healthy meals with a mix of English and international dishes served in the Dining Room. Vegetarian options are always available. Special dietary requirements are accommodated. See our Meals at Bede's Flyer.
Internet is available for students during their free time. Students can make and receive telephone calls. Skype is available. Laundry is done for students at least twice a week. 24 hour emergency contact service for Parents.
Transfers from/to Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports and Ashford Train Station are included in the fees at any time of the day. Students are met by Bede's Staff and Bede's Airport Coordinators provide extra care.
